TV Rots Your Brains: Friday Viewing Schedule

We are finally on the last day of tv shows. And Friday is the busiest of all. No chance of recovering from the brain rot anytime soon. Thankfully we will have Saturdays to rest up for the TV viewing week ahead.

Our week ends with a plate full of other worldly goodness. No really, we mean it. We’ve got ghosts, fairy tales, parallel universes, angels gone crazy, and so much more to finish off the week.

A Gifted Man : Series Premiere

Patrick Wilson (Watchmen) plays a cocky brain surgeon who runs into his ex-wife only to find out later she recently died in a car accident. Her repeated appearances cause him to consider brain surgery on himself. Not really, but they do cause him to reconsider the life he is living. We at Shallow Graves are definitely happy to see Patrick Wilson on the small screen every week. He is surrounded by some great casting as well. Jennifer Ehle (Contagion) plays his deceased ex-wife and Julie Benz (No Ordinary Family) plays his sister struggling as a single mother to raise her son.

Check out Patrick Wilson on the small screen in A Gifted Man premiering on September 23rd at 8:00 PM Eastern / 7:00 PM Central on CBS. Need most enticement? Watch the preview below.

Fringe : Season 4

Fringe definitely left us wanting more with their 3rd Season Finale. We thought it was the best finale of the season. There was concern for this show when it started. Would it get off course Lost, another of JJ Abrams creations? Or be cancelled by the network? Something Fox is known to do. So we have only been more and more thrilled that each season keeps getting better and better. We’re in it for the entertainment and the “fringe” science (oh and Walter too) so please don’t try and ruin it for us with logic and reason and actual science. This show is crazy good fun especially when it blinks main characters completely out of existence.

Don’t know what we’re talking about? Check out the preview below and see if you can figure it out. Fringe Season 4 starts on September 23rd at 9:00 PM Eastern / 8:00 PM Central on Fox.

Grimm : Series Premiere

If it’s even possible Grimm tries to put an even darker spin on the stories of the Grimm brothers by bringing them to a modern day setting in this tale. A homicide detective discovers that he is one of the last descendants of a long line of “Grimms”, hunters of supernatural creatures. We’re excited to check out this show because it reminds us a little of what Supernatural was in its humble beginnings. It appears to be a creature of the week series and that’s fine by us.

Is it too much to hope for a supernatural side kick, perhaps the one in the preview below? Grimm premieres on September 23rd at 9:00 PM Eastern / 8:00 PM Central on NBC.

Supernatural : Season 7

Ah, Supernatural, the show that started it all here at Shallow Graves. We’ll admit we miss the days when this show was young and shiny and new. It’s come a long way from where it began. There has been a steady stream of awesome guest stars and a soundtrack like no other TV show we know. We’re just wondering where they go from here. The Winchesters have thwarted the end of the world more than once. This season they are up against one of their very own who has the new found abilities of a god.

Check out the preview below. Supernatural Season 7 begins on September 23rd at 9:00 PM Eastern / 8:00 PM Central on The CW.

Sanctuary : Season 4

Sanctuary is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a safe place for supernatural creatures. Originally the show was a web series and later turned into a TV series. Now in its 4th season Sanctuary will be joining the ranks of other well known show by doing a musical episode. The game changes this season and it will be interesting to watch how it all unfolds.

Join us when Sanctuary Season 4 begins on October 7th at 10 PM Eastern / 9 PM Central on SyFy. Check out the preview below for a taste of the new things this season promises.

Ghost Adventures : Season 5

This is one of the few reality shows we will be watching and covering at Shallow Graves. What can we say? We prefer that things that go bump in the night remain scripted fiction. So why are we going to be checking out Ghost Adventures? We find this crew of paranormal investigators to be the most entertaining out there. The energy they bring to their investigations makes is amusing and contagious. We expect more of the same this season from Zak, Nick, and Aaron. “Dude, did you hear that?”

Bro, one not to miss! Ghost Adventures returns on September 23rd at 10:00 PM Eastern / 9:00 PM Central on the Travel Channel. Check out the previews below!

Haven : Season 2

We are already into the 2nd Season of the show, but we feel it is one not to be missed. So we are going to go ahead and finish out the season and make sure it is on the schedule for next year. Former FBI Agent Audrey Parker investigates the Troubles, a supernatural affliction that happens in a small town called Haven and tries to uncover the mystery of her own unknown past.

Haven continues at 10 PM Eastern / 9:00 PM Central on SyFy Channel. Check out the preview for the latest episode below.
