“Thor: Love and Thunder” Features Natalie Portman As The New Thor

Fans are excited that Lady Thor will finally be arriving to the MCU after so many years of rumors, yet a lot of them wish it was something better. Recently at San Diego Comic Con, Marvel had announced their line up for Marvel’s Phase 4 of the cinematic universe. With shows and films such as “WandaVision” and “Loki” to “Falcon and the Winter Soldier” to even “Thor: Love and Thunder” which we will be talking about here today.

With a line up of shows for their new streaming service featuring all the stars from the films, and a mass amount of movies set to be released, Marvel and Disney can’t fail. Although, some people aren’t so happy with some of the choices that they have made. With the most prevalent casting Natalie Portman as Thor.

Fans are upset with this predicament not because it is a woman as Thor, but because it is Natalie Portman as Thor. If you do not know, back in 2014 after Thor became unworthy to weild Mjolnir, Jane Foster was deemed worthy and became the new Thor. With the name Thor being just a title, Jane then went on being Thor until Odinson (the original Thor) went on a journey to become worthy again. It is a pretty amazing storyline and really introduced a new concept as well as creating a great character.

But, even with all that said, fans are upset over the fact that Natalie Portman will be playing this new iteration of Thor. They think that because she has been absent from the MCU for so long, and had delivered less than stellar performances while in it, that someone else deserves the title. The fans also believe that because Chris Hemsworth and the MCU have finally been doing Thor so well, that Hemsworth should keep it, or just give it to someone deserving like Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), who is now the MCU’s first LGBTQ super-hero.
