“The Witcher” Showrunners Have Seven Seasons Planned

Netflix‘s new fantasy epic is coming to their streaming service very soon, and with that release, Netflix will have to decide whether or not the show will be picked up for another season or not. If it is, then wow are they in luck because showrunner, Lauren Hissrich, has seven seasons already mapped out and planned for the show.

Hissrich is set for the long run, thinking ahead, Hissrich believes that you can’t just focus on getting the series off the ground, but that you need to think about what you will do if it gets off the ground. Speaking to SFX magazine, Hissrich said this:

I’ve [mapped out stories] for seven seasons. Right now it’s just about, ‘how do you set up stories that really capture audiences for years at a time? The worst thing we could do is put all of our energies just into season one, and not be thinking about where these characters can grow to.

The show is based off the same characters seen in CD Projekt Red‘s hit franchise of the same name, which in turn is based off the novels and short stories by Andrzej Sapkowski, of the same name. So, even if the show and its creators does run out of ideas, they have some inspiration they can get by just looking towards the books or even the video games.
