Be sure to stick around later this week for our recap of last night’s episode. Continue reading The Following 2×13, “The Reaping” Teaser
Last week on The Following, many viewers were surprised to find out that Claire was indeed alive and now in Witness Protection. Damn that Shawn Ashmore (Mike) and his on cue crying. I get it is his job to protect Claire and you could see on his face that it killed him lying to Ryan. Which in the end had its own positive spin. Ryan is now clean, sober, and healthier than he’s been in years. Granted he did it for the most part due to his obsession to track down Joe Carroll himself and kill him. Monday night’s episode of The Following appropriately titled “Sacrifice” was not only surreal but I would say mentally disturbing, not to mention downright awesome!

THE FOLLOWING EPISODE 15: THE FINAL CHAPTER REVIEW
By: Nick Kelley
As was left off in last week’s episode of The Following, Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) has left with Claire (Natalie Zea) on a boat, Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) and Michael Weston (Shawn Ashmore) are reminded once again about The Masque of the Red Death at the evacuation center, Emma (Valorie Curry) kills Jacob (Nico Tortorella) in a Murders In the Rue Morgue type fashion because she can’t love both Joe and Jacob, and Debra Parker (Annie Parisse) reminds us about a familiar Poe story entitled Premature Burial in which, you guessed it, Debra is buried alive. Wow, that is a lot to soak in for one episode.
THE FOLLOWING EPISODE 14: “THE END IS NEAR” REVIEW
By: Nick Kelley
“And darkness and decay and the Red Death held illimitable dominion over all.” The Masque of the Red Deathby Edgar Allan Poe.
Or, In Which Joe Has a Very Bad Day, Part II
Havenport is no haven for anyone, nor is it the port in the storm that Joe had imagined. While “The Curse” saw things starting to unravel for Joe, they’re now coming apart like someone’s pulled a thread on a ratty sweater and it’s quickly turning into a ball of nasty yarn.
Available on Hulu and on fox.com in 8 days (cuz they like to make you beg for it).
One thing’s bothered me from almost the very beginning: why did FBI Agent Parker give Joe Carroll that thick, complete works edition of Poe when Joe was still in the clink? We’ve learned by now that Joe’s Followers are everywhere and have been “there” for years. Is Parker a Follower? She’s supposedly anti-cult because of her parents, but I’m curious … *arched brow*
That aside, this episode was aptly named. Shall we start with the whips first or the regret? For some characters, it’s one or the other, and for some, it’s both.
