Marvel has released one of the most cryptic teasers ever. A giant four made out of spider webs and a spider in the center of it. What this could mean, no one knows, but it definitely has the fans talking.
Being a longtime friend of Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, it would make sense for a crossover between the hero team and the friendly neighbor web-slinger. Thus this would also explain the four, seeming how there has only been 2 Spider-Man films.
Yet, one theory keeps popping up, and it is a rather interesting theory to say the least. Perhaps this tweet is a teaser for the lost Spider-Man 4 film starring Tobey Maguire. Now it sounds far fetched, but aren’t all things relating to comic books a bit far fetched? It wouldn’t be that insane seeming how Marvel is experimenting with their multiverse, and we already know about the Spider-verse. In fact, the Spider-Man 4 film actually entered development in 2007, with negotiations for John Malkovich to play the vulture and Bruce Campbell potentially being Mysterio. Nevertheless, in 2010 Sony cancelled the production of the film to focus on their “Amazing Spider-Man” reboots.
No one is sure of what this teaser means, and the Marvel Comics editor-in-chief CB Cebulski retweeted the teaser, with the caption “No one is going to see this one coming…”, so we can safe knowing that something big is coming. Now, we just have to wait to see what is going to happen to everyone’s favorite web head.
