Rocky Johnson, one of wrestling’s all time greats, passed away yesterday on January 15th, 2019. Father of the now Hollywood superstar and former professional wrestler, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Rocky paved a path for his son to run on.
In 1991, Rocky retired from wrestling and began training his son Dwayne Johnson, who first went under the ring name Rocky Maivia, in honor of his father, but found more fame as the always popular “The Rock”.
Rocky was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008 by his son in a touching ceremony.
The cause of death is still unknown, but what is known is that Rocky Johnson had a strong impact on wrestling and the tag team division, and made history along with his partner Tony Atlas.
