Peter Fonda Passes Away At The Age Of 79

Actor and icon, Peter Fonda passed away Friday morning at his home in Los Angeles, California. A representative for Mr. Fonda confirms that the star was surrounded by loving members of his family in his last moments. Known for roles in the films “3:10 to Yuma” and especially his role in the 1969 classic “Easy Rider“, Fonda will surely be missed within the land of Hollywood.

Being recently in and out of the hospital, Peter Fonda has been battling lung cancer, until he he finally succumbed to respiratory failure early Friday morning.

Brother of the amazing actress Jane Fonda, as well as his father Henry Fonda, his family released a statement saying:

In one of the saddest moments of our lives, we are not able to find the appropriate words to express the pain in our hear. While we mourn the loss of this sweet and gracious man, we also wish for all to celebrate his indomitable spirit and and love of life.

One of his largest films, “Easy Rider”, had him co-starring with Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson. The film just celebrated its 50th anniversary on July 14th, and this had Mr. Fonda planning a concert as well as screening for the film in September, as a way to celebrate. Although, he has passed away, there is some comfort knowing that he got to see the 50th anniversary for the film he wrote that nearly won him an Oscar way back in the day.

At 79, we can all look back on Peter Fonda’s work with a smile and say that it was just as good now as it was back then, truly leaving a legacy behind.
