New Information On George R.R. Martin’s New “Game of Thrones” Prequel Series

Here comes the prequel to one of the greatest fantasy epics ever, produced by George R.R. Martin, this show will extend the upon the universe up until the one we were introduced to in the first season of “Game of Thrones“. George has given some details about the new show and what can be expected from the people over at HBO.

The world of Westeros will be a bit different than the one we have grown so used to. Before the formation of the famous seven kingdoms we have grown to know, the world of Westeros is split up into 100 different kingdoms. These kingdoms have been described as each being “petty” in their own right, with some of these kingdoms being run by some of the families we have also grown to love.

For example, the Starks still exist and there are very much direwolves supporting everyones favorite family. Yet, one family seems to be missing from the fray. The Lannisters. The show at this point doesn’t have the first family of Westeros at this point, it seems as though they have not risen to power at this point in the world.

One final notable thing about the show is its title. The show will most likely be called “Game of Thrones: The Longest Night”, which to the people that watched the final season, that title will sound familiar. Similar to the third episode of the final season, titled “The Long Night”, it seems as though Martin really likes that title because he is using it again.

The show is preparing to be a fantasy epic with a little more magic in the world unlike its predecessor show, which focused on a magical fantasy world, but one with low magic. This show screams mysticism and sorcery, something more atone to Elder Scrolls, than “Game of Thrones”, but who knows? I guess we will have to wait and see.
