Marvel’s Avengers Game Will Not Alter The Designs Of Their Characters After Fan Backlash

Often called pale imitations of the MCU characters, “Marvel’s Avengers” was hit with some criticism online after debuting at E3 2019. The designs for the heroes are heavily inspired by the actors and their respective roles from the MCU, yet the game seems to not want to commit fully to their designs, instead opting for some weird look alikes.

Captain America and Thor were at the forefront of this backlash, with fans commenting on how good ole Cap’s riot gear is absurdly bulky, and Thor’s discs on his chest make it look as though he is a walking stereo system.

The fans, possibly hoping to cause another “Sonic the Hedgehog” film situation, have been very public about their stances on the character’s designs. And when asked about the designs by IGN, Crystal Dynamics lead creative director Shaun Escayg said this:

We are always listening to, and welcome feedback from our community. There are currently no plans to change our characters designs.”

Shaun then spoke about how the trailer shown was pre-alpha and that the game was still in early stages of development, so there is nothing to throw a fit over just yet. Guaranteeing that the game will receive some more needed polish before its release date.
