“Machete Brawl” Breaks Out During Frozen 2 Screening

On Saturday afternoon at the Birmingham Star City Cinema in England, a brawl broke out involving over 100 teenagers while families were queuing up to watch the newly released “Frozen 2“.

It was reported at least two of these teenagers were brandishing machetes, potentially more, which caused dozens of armed officers to rush to the scene and hopefully defuse the situation. Instead, officers were met with a very hostile greeting that lead to many of the officers being inflicted with minor facial injuries.

Children as young as four were in attendance at the film, although luckily it was reported that no children have been harmed.

To take control of the situation, the police brought in taser guns and police dogs. The officers managed to retrieve the 2 machetes and a knife from a nearby roundabout, leading to the arrest of five teenagers, from ages 13-20, after the brawl had ceased. Four more were arrested on suspicion of assaulting police officers and a 14 year old boy was arrested for obstructing justice.

Although at this time no motive is known, it is thought that the reasoning behind the brawl may have been gang related. Luckily, no major injuries were reported and police are working on identifying more potential suspects that were involved.
