Macbeth Meets Psychedelia In Shakespeare: Animated Tales

Who knew Shakespeare could be so entertaining? Just kidding! Growing up in a theatrical family, I was quite familiar with most of the legendary writers work. However, nothing prepared me for these re-imagined tales.

Originally created in 1989, it wasn’t until 1992 that the series, Shakespeare: The Animated Tales, was broadcast on the BBC. The series was produced by Christopher Grace and aimed to shrink down the iconic works into 30 minute shorts to educate viewers. The effort to avoid any type of Disney animations also helped to make these videos one of a kind.

The first I stumbled upon is my favorite play “Macbeth“. You can see the video below and feel free to delve into all of the brilliant animated stories!
