For Under $20 Million Motha Dahling!
A true piece of American history has recently been put up for sale! Grey Gardens is listed at $19,995,000 for sale price and you can check the listing here.
Subject of the 1975 documentary by the Maysles brothers, Grey Gardens was home to Edith “Big Edie” Bouvier Beale and Edith “Little Edie” Beale. The documentary along with focusing on the life of the Beale‘s also showed the delapidating state that the house was in. Two years after Big Edie‘s death in 1977, Little Edie sold the house for $220,000 to Washington Post Editor Ben Bradlee and his writer wife Sally Quinn. Ben and Sally went on to spend millions in restoring the house to its former glory. Bradlee sadly passed away in 2014 and his wife states “although it is a magical place”, she’s ready to move on.
Built in 1897 in the East Hamptons, the three story home features seven bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, a heated swimming pool, lush gardens, and is conveniently located 300 ft away from the beach. This is your chance to own a national treasure!
