Latest News: ‘Supergirl’ Season 3 Promo…What To Expect!

According to Screenrant,  a new promo for Supergirl season 3 is now online. The third season of Supergirl (second on The CW after it made the jump from CBS) will deal with the aftermath of the chaotic sophomore season finale, at the same time that it introduces new potential allies and enemies alike for Kara (Melissa Benoist). In the case of the video below, it’s a foe in the shape of Robert DuBois, aka. Bloodsport.

We already know that this season’s main big bad will be the “world-killer” known as Reign (Odette Annable), but first Kara will have to deal with the imminent arrival of the aforementioned military man gone rogue. Bloodsport’s usual modus operandi involves stealing items and gadgets from his old base and using them to hide a secret nuclear weapon underwater. While we don’t know yet what DuBois has planned for National City, but the citizens of the fictional metropolitan can rest assured that their local crime-fighting Kryptonian will be there to protect them.

Although Kara seems to have her customary upbeat and optimistic attitude here, we know that Supergirl season 3 will be hard times for her personally, especially after the sacrifice that Mon-El (Chris  Wood) made in season 2. Benoist has said that by the time we pick up with Kara in Supergirl season 3, a few months will have passed since that heartbreaking incident in the season 2 finale and her character is still dealing with its consequences in a rather very contained way. This, of course, makes sense, seeing as seemingly every week brings a new threat to National City that Kara has to deal with (forcing her to set her personal life on the back-burner).

That said, fans can look forward to lighter story threads in season 3 too, including the ongoing relationship between Kara’s sister Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima). Family ties will also be stronger than ever, as the Danvers sisters are set to play a pivotal role in this year’s much-anticipated Arrowverse crossover – which will see the melding of worlds among The CW’s superhero shows ArrowThe FlashLegends of Tomorrow and Supergirl.
