Jason Voorhees Goes Old School Thanks To Directors Cheat Code…

You Will NOT Believe This!!

Recently, iHorror posted one of the coolest things I have seen in awhile. On the 2004 boxset of From Crystal Lake To Manhattan, director Tom McLoughlin suggested an interesting way to watch Friday The 13th Part IV: Jason Lives.

During an interview McLoughlin had this to say:

“My main objective was to give the audience a sense of the old gothic horror movies, because I was trying to set a tone right from the beginning that this was going to be like what the Universal horror movies used to be: the stormy night, going to the cemetery, digging up the grave, a monster that is actually dead coming back and is unstoppable. If you turn the color off, this movie would look great in black and white.”

Just like with Pink Floyd and The Wizard Of Oz, I had to see this for myself and after changing the picture settings on the TV and inserting the DVD, I can totally see what he was talking about! Making the film black and white gives it a whole new meaning and really embodies the old fashioned monster movies! I only wish that they would release the movie as a bonus feature on its own DVD. Check out the slideshow below to get a glimpse of the film in black and white!
