Known for his work within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, James Gunn has become a household name synonymous with superhero films. Following his firing from Marvel after a controversial scandal, Gunn took up a job at rival company, Warner Bros. and DC to helm the reboot/sequel for the new “The Suicide Squad” film for 2021. And Gunn undoubtedly is absolutely confident in this production.
“My favorite screenplays you mean? I love them movies I directed all the same, so far, but I think I love The Suicide Squad script the most,” Gunn answered. “Also love the scripts for Dawn of the Dead, Super, and The Specials.”
The film is set for the release date on August 6, 2021, and will feature the likes of Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, Peter Capaldi, Michael Rooker, and John Cena.
