James Gunn Claims “The Suicide Squad” Is His Favorite Script Of All Time

Known for his work within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, James Gunn has become a household name synonymous with superhero films. Following his firing from Marvel after a controversial scandal, Gunn took up a job at rival company, Warner Bros. and DC to helm the reboot/sequel for the new “The Suicide Squad” film for 2021. And Gunn undoubtedly is absolutely confident in this production.

Considering how Gunn has been able to produce some of the funniest and pop culture-centric films in the MCU, along with some of the best horror movies in recent years, it would only make sense that Gunn believes in his Suicide Squad script, especially since the last version attempted to be a dollar store version of Guardians.

My favorite screenplays you mean? I love them movies I directed all the same, so far, but I think I love The Suicide Squad script the most,” Gunn answered. “Also love the scripts for Dawn of the Dead, Super, and The Specials.”

The film is set for the release date on August 6, 2021, and will feature the likes of Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, Peter Capaldi, Michael Rooker, and John Cena.
