HBO’s “Game of Thrones” Spin-Off No Go

Here we are, the end of one of the most popular television series of all time, and people are still talking about it. We have heard rumors and empty promises that there are some “Game of Thrones” spin-offs in the works, but thanks to the creators of the show, we can rule out one characters story being told.

—–Minor Spoilers Below—–

If you have seen the series finale for the show then you know the path that one character has taken, that character being Arya Stark, portrayed by Maisie Williams. With her setting sail to find what is West of Westeros, Arya’s tale is not yet finished. Or so we thought. With the intrigue and potential of a fan favorite character finding something, it would be the perfect place to create a new show, right? Wrong. The programming president over at HBO, Casey Bloys, states how the series finale is the end of those characters and that they do not belong within the world of another writers work.

People over at HBO tell about how they want this show to be separate from that of the over-arcing George R.R. Martin world that exists. They want this new show to be its own show, and to not have the potential to ruin the characters that have been portrayed and written so well.

Yet, they also send us off with a bit of hope. Foretelling a “Game of Thrones” prequel series starring Naomi Watts. It has already been scheduled to start filming its pilot episode next month, and it has the potential to be just as big as the original series.
