Disney’s “Aladdin” Sequel Is In Development

For those of you who are really enjoying Disney‘s live-action remakes of animated classics, you are going to be super excited to hear that Disney’s “Aladdin” remake is getting a sequel. This will mark “Aladdin” as the fourth live-action remake to get a sequel, after “Maleficent” and “Alice in Wonderland“, and the declared “Jungle Book” sequel that will be directed by Jon Favreau.

One of Disney’s better live-action remakes, the sequel will be getting writers John Gatins and Andrea Berloff to write the script.

The most interesting take on this sequel is that the writers spent six months trying to come up with a story and have opted to not use any of the straight to video sequels that the original had. Instead, the writers have decided to write an entirely new story. This means that the second film will not be “Aladdin: The Return of Jafar“.

At this time none of the original cast has signed any contracts, and the company is waiting until the script is finished to even get in contact with them, meaning it is unknown whether the original cast will return for a sequel.

It is also unknown whether director Guy Ritchie will be returning to direct the sequel, but their are rumors floating about that he is in talks for it right now.

So what do you think? Are you excited to see a sequel for this Disney live-action remake? Would you rather they adapt “Aladdin: The Return of Jafar” or would you like to see something new? Let us know by leaving a comment down below or by contacting us at our Facebook/Twitter.
