Disney Releases Their Streaming Service Catalog

For a while now we have heard about Disney‘s streaming service, “Disney Plus“, and their removal of their shows and films from other streaming platforms. And for a while people have been wondering what they will do with this fresh slate. Well now we have a confirmed list of what shows they will be continuing and producing.

I just want to start this off by saying does Disney know what franchise fatigue is? It seems as though all the shows and films being produced on their own streaming service are Star Wars or Marvel related. Confirming shows like a series revolving around Cassian Andor from “Star Wars: Rogue One” and a rumored series involving Bucky and Falcon from the Avengers film series, as well as “The Mandalorian“, which was originally set to be a Netflix exclusive show.

Other shows include a new season for “Star Wars: The Clone Wars“, a Marvel series that includes Loki and another that includes Scarlett Witch, a Monsters Inc. series, and “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” (and yes that is correct). We will also be getting a few remakes of some classic movies like “Lady and the Tramp“, and “Sword in the Stone“. Others have been rumored and it seems like they have flesh out a nice new catalog if you include all the Disney movie classics that they will all be on there as well.

Yet, one has to say and ask, in a world where people are growing tired of Star Wars and Superhero movies in general, is it a good idea to saturate the market even more? Though to be clear, I am very excited for “The Mandalorian”, just gets us one step closer to a Boba Fett movie.
