Disney Owning The Box Office And Memorial Day Earnings

Recently we have seen an outburst in box office earnings from movies. With records constantly being broken everyday and movies making a surprising amount of money, the box office is basically on fire right now, both domestically and foreign.

Starting with some bad news, “John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum” is down about 71% since last weekend. Sporting a strong $83 million domestic income for just eight days, it still far surpasses the budget needed to create the sequel for this fantastic franchise.

Marvel earns yet another couple million dollars, with “Avengers: Endgame” earning $4.225 million on Friday. As we know the movie has become the largest grossing movie of all time sporting a $785 million in domestic income and $2.7 billion worldwide. Another Disney movie seems to also be doing very well this weekend. “Aladdin” has earned around $95 million in just the couple days since it has come out. This makes “Aladdin” probably the most successful Disney movie to debut on memorial day weekend in the last couple of years, with the last couple being barely memorable (example being “Solo: A Star Wars Story”).

To wrap it all up, Warner Bros. and “Pokemon: Detective Pikachu” are still going decently strong. Earning yet another $3.5 million, this puts the movies domestic income around $106 million. On its way to becoming the largest earning video game movie off all time, with the title currently being held by “Angry Birds“. The movie is still going strong and will have to compete next week with another Warner Bros. film, “Godzilla: King of the Monsters“.
