Jake’s Take: Netflix’s “The Umbrella Academy” Review

Is This A New Twist Or Is It Just Twisted

Netflix has never been shy about picking up shows, some are amazing, some are bland, and others just float around. “The Umbrella Academy” seems to fit into all these categories but none all at the same time. It adds a new take on the superhero genre while also introducing casual audiences to something other than Marvel or DC heroes. I can without a doubt tell you I had never heard of this comic series until the show dropped on Netflix, but I’m glad it did and it is an incredible thing for it’s creator Gerard Way has made.

The ‘ARROWVERSE’ That Could Have Been

WHICH STARS NEARLY MADE THE CUT!!!

Who isn’t a huge fan of The CW and their D.C. Comic based shows which began on October 16, 2001 with the premiere of Smallville. Since then The CW has added many D.C. shows to their roster from Arrow to Supergirl, and at least once a year fans look forward to the Arrowverse crossover which is one consecutive storyline that crosses all the shows, Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends Of Tomorrow (Sadly Legends did not participate in the 2018 crossover Elseworlds).

Latest News: ‘THE CW’ ANNOUNCES SPRING 2019 PREMIERE DATES

Something Old…Something New…

The CW Network today announced dates for the debut of its new series IN THE DARK, plus the returns of THE 100 and DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW and the premieres for the final seasons of JANE THE VIRGIN and IZOMBIE.

The final season of the critically-acclaimed hit series JANE THE VIRGIN begins Wednesday, March 27 (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT) following an all new episode of RIVERDALE (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT).  ALL AMERICAN will conclude its first season on Wednesday, March 20 (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT).
