It has now been a week since Fox aired the Rocky Horror Picture Show remake and by now you must have read all of the…not so favorable reviews. So, as I sit here listening to the soundtrack and set later to do another makeup run for the performance of the classic at the local movie theater tomorrow night, I really can’t help but wonder why people (including myself) are so gravitated to this film. I mean, I’m not a Transvestite from the planet Transsexual in the Galaxy of Transylvania and I wasn’t alive during both the original stage play or film release. Inspectah Deck, 7L, and Esoteric open up about their influences when it comes to both comic books and music!
The hip hop trio of Inspectah Deck, 7L, and Esoteric first joined forces in 2013 to bring their love of comics and rap together as Czarface. More recently, the group combined their powers to produce music to accompany a video of writer Ta-Nehisi Coates detailing his plans for the BLACK PANTHER title.
NME has just announced that the once lost soundtrack to the David Howie classic, The Man Who Fell To Earth, will be released for the first time in over 40 years. The score is comprised of compositions by Japanese prog-rock musician Stomu Yamash’ta and John Philips, the frontman for The Mamas and the Papas and will be on the double vinyl version.
