Can’t Wait For Elder Scrolls 6? Try This Out

Can’t wait for Bethesda‘s next installment into the Elder Scrolls series? Well don’t worry about it, “Skyrim” is now coming to tabletop. A new game by the creators of “Fallout: Wasteland Warfare”, another popular board game based off the series of the same name, Modiphius. “Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms” brings the world of Elder Scrolls right to you.

A miniature board game, “Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms” is an action adventure story telling tabletop game.  Now that may be a lot of words just to describe a tabletop game, but trust me this game is amazing.  Players take control of a Skyrim styled miniature, or another Elder Scrolls styled hero, that leads a group of adventures throughout dungeons and ruins on a quest given to you at the beginning of the game.

The creators of “Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms” emphasize the importance of the narrative that you play throughout the games. The stories that the players will be adventuring through come from a deck of quest cards, these cards can alter the course of your quest for better or for worse, depending on what the card says. This creates a game that can almost never be played the same way twice, giving diversity to the tabletop that can create hours of endless fun.

There is also an emphasis on the ability to play solo. Perhaps your group of friends can’t meet up for game night, so you decide to play alone. Well do not worry, there is a solo system in place that controls the enemy AI characters. Using a dice, you roll and compare the number to a reference sheet that decides the actions of the enemy character.

The game takes place in the land Skyrim, arguably the best of the series and most likely the most popular. A great foundation for the game, it creates even more story lines for the the tabletop due to ongoing civil war between the Stormcloaks and the Imperials. The starter set will give you access to known characters such as… Ulfric Stormcloak, General Tullius, Lydia, Hadvar and many others.
