With only two weekends since its initial release on April 26th, Marvel‘s “Avengers: Endgame” is breaking records and approaching the trophy as the highest grossing movie of all time. Crossing the $2 billion threshold, that makes “Avengers: Endgame” one of only five other films to ever make $2 billion in ticket sales. And that is only after 2 weeks!
With a domestic box office of around $620 million being pulled in from the United States, the newest Avengers film has also pulled in $1.56 billion overseas, and $575 million of that is from just China alone. These numbers make “Avengers: Endgame” the 9th largest movie to be released in North America. It also points out that Endgame is now the second-highest grossing film of all time, beating out “Titanic” with $2.188 billion globally in less than 2 weeks.
The highest grossing film of all time is “Avatar“, with a box office of nearly $2.788 billion. That means the Earth’s mightiest heroes are just about $6 million dollars away from being the #1 film of all time. And bringing into fact that it is only on it’s second week and breaking so many records already, it is safe to say that “Avatar” might have a run for its money with “Avengers: Endgame” so close on its heels.
