These Movies Are Not Even Close

First off, I can already tell this new “Pete’s Dragon” is going to be underrated just like the 1977 version. This movie is going to be trashed by people who don’t even want to see it because they believe it is just another live adaptation of a Disney fill and those suck, but it is not at all the case.  I absolutely loved the original 1977 version of the film and watched it to the point I can probably sing the songs backward if I wanted too.

For years we have heard rumors about a supposed remake of the 1994 cult classic “The Crow”, and now it’s here. What do I think of the suicide squad movie? I think it was fantastic and probably DC’s best movie in a long time. Although the movie was pretty good I do believe there were some problems with it. Two problems come to mind and aren’t too big but could be touched upon in future installments, if we are that lucky. Continue reading Jake’s Take: Suicide Squad Review

JUDGEMENT DAY… DREDD STYLE

Karl Urban as DREDDA few weeks ago after covering Chicago Comic Con I posted an article about meeting and speaking with my idol Karl Urban (Dredd) and before I knew it that conversation not only went viral but took on a life of its own which got me thinking about 5 storylines I would love to see made into movies based on the Judge Dredd comic books besides the one mentioned in my previous post.

Karl Urban Dishes On “Dredd” at Chicago Comic Con

Karl Uban at Chicago Comic Con Growing up we all have an idol that we look up to. One of my biggest idols is Karl Urban (Dredd, LOTR, Almost Human).  Ever since I saw him on Hercules where he played Cupid I’ve been a fan.  I had the pleasure of telling him this directly upon meeting him at Chicago Comic Con.  He was quite gracious and thanked me.  But, at the mention of Dredd, we both found we had common ground as total geeks and fans of the Judge Dredd comic book series. Karl Urban is the most recent actor to take up the role of plays the one and only fascist street judge, “Judge Joseph Dredd” in a dystopian society filled with overpopulation and crime and where appointed judges keep the cities safe.
