OHHH….MY GOD!! Entertainment Weekly has finally released a full picture of what Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard) will look like for the upcoming two part adaptation of Stephen Kings “ IT ” set for September 8, 2017. Along with the cast announcements and the little hints that have been all over social media, this makes all the waiting finally feel worth it. Take a look for yourself…

Janie Bryant (who has been costume designer on hits like Mad Men, Dead Wood, and Last House On the Left) recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the new design:

“The costume definitely incorporates all these otherworldly past lives, if you will,” says Bryant in an interview with EW. “He is definitely a clown from a different time.”

“There is almost a doll-like quality to the costume,” she continues, “The pants being short, the high waistline of the jacket, and the fit of the costume is a very important element. It gives the character a child-like quality.”

The new look definitely highlights the new direction as well as a much darker tone to the upcoming film. As much as Tim Curry’s adaptation will live on, this one will surely join it on the mantle. We’ll just have to wait and see…
SYNOPSIS: In a small town in Maine, seven children known as The Losers Club come face to face with life problems, bullies and a monster that takes the shape of a clown called Pennywise.
